Global Optical Inc.
Having shopped for new eyeglasses the whole summer, I was fed up and went to Pmall with my boyfriend on a “buy-glasses-today-or-else-cannot-go-home” shopping rampage. Walked around for hours, blah blah blah. I was about to give up and go home (and my boyfriend was pretty fed up with my complaining/whining) when I decided to try some Diesels out at Global Optical Inc. (Unit C61), which seemed to have the biggest Diesel selection on display (especially some titanium ones, which was important to me, since I have skin sensitization issues). It was a clean/neat/tidy little store: the displays weren’t crammed with blingy eyeglasses, the store wasn’t crammed with merchandise, etc. The sales were pretty laidback, which helped encourage me to try on different eyeglasses, since they weren’t laying on the pressure or trying to kick us out for wasting their time. My boyfriend and I decided on our frames pretty quickly and the optician(?) named Helen who helped us out with the transaction was very friendly. The prices weren’t outrageous and the eyeglasses were ready at the time specified (within a week). The sales rep(?) was really nice about the fitting the eyeglasses for us (then again, maybe it was because we went in right after opening, so they weren’t annoyed/tired/etc yet… how cynical of me).
Very very good experience. HAPPY WITH GLASSES YAY!

Um… so one of the lenses in my boyfriend’s pair got loose. He said the craftsmanship was bad in the first place. Plus the frames were scratched even though we had requested new ones. We took them back in-store and left them to be replaced. We’ll pick them back up later in the week. Let’s see how they turn out…

Um… they called me two days ago to tell me that the frames were back-ordered and that it would take 3 to 4 weeks to replace the eyeglasses… Okay…

Okay, they called a few days ago to tell me that the eyeglasses were ready. My boyfriend and I went back to pick them up today. The frames were scratchless, however, the lens was still a bit wiggly. Hmm. Hopefully, it doesn’t pop right out like last time.
